Buckles are a long-standing tradition in ultrarunning, inherited from the endurance horse riding world, and they’re most commonly found at 100 mile and 100K distance races. They signify a huge achievement and are considered a part of “ultrarunning formalwear” that you’ll often see at gatherings of long distance runners.
We’ve got a super exciting announcement for all of you! Starting in 2025 we’re doing buckles for anyone who completes the 100K distance at Fire Tower!
We’ve partnered with our friends at Ragged Cuts (the maker of our medals) to design and craft these unique wood pieces, and we can’t wait to hand them out to you on race day.
Oh, and if you’re a former 100K finisher at Fire Tower we’re going to be reaching out about a way to purchase one to commemorate your past finish.
