Update on food at Fire Tower!

The big day is creeping ever closer, and the last pieces of event preparation are falling into place. We’re delighted to share that local Hinckley food truck Nila’s Son will be joining us at Start/Finish from 10am-6pm on Saturday (you know, the big day), serving up burgers and veggie burgers for everyone!

This is a new development for us, and it requires a slight change from how we’ve handled food in the past. Every participant will have a food ticket in their swag bag. They can turn this in at the food truck for their burger and chips during the time that they’re there. Volunteers can also stop by Start/Finish for a food ticket as well.

Spectators and crew are welcome to purchase a food ticket at the Start/Finish table for $12. We’ll have a QR code up for Venmo, but sometimes cell coverage can be spotty, so you might want to bring some cash. (Please know this: Every person at Fire Tower deserves a meal, regardless of ability to pay. If you or your loved ones require a ticket, please talk to one of us – Lisa or Jamison.)

After 6pm, we’ll be setting up our personal grill and making sure that nobody ends their day hungry! There will be no cost for food after this time, and we’ll be flipping burgers until the very last finisher crosses the line.
